Another Day In the Life...

Pink and The Pig!
It is Wednesday.... 3 day weekends and short work weeks are great. It was very nice having an extra full day at home with Nati and the pups; it provided more time for watching, holding, cuddling, etc.! All 9 have there eyes open now and they are definitely stimulated by movement in and around their box and room. We've added some soft toys to their box - the unstuffed squeaker pig is their favorite! They all pile up on it, push underneath it and use it to find funny ways to fall asleep on it.  Another milestone happened over the weekend - they outgrew their "ready" box. We tried to use it but beside the fact the box had grown to small for 9 pups, most over 2+ pounds,they weren't going to settle for being held captive.... and they crawled and squirmed their way out. Instead of fighting the inevitable it was time for Plan B. Nati's comfy mat and pads placed temporarily in the center of the room, her quilt and blanket spread out, so the pups now experience a "new" environment much difference than a box away from the whelping box for short times during the bedding changes. It's fun to watch as Nati attempts to keep them together for a bit, unsuccessfully, then she gives up, lays down and they flock to eat just like a magnet has pulled them there. Much easier than trying to keep them in a small cardboard box! :-). Yes, - this is just the beginning of puppies going every direction and not staying "where we" want them to be "when we" want them to be there.... at the end of the day it is part of what makes raising pups fun and so we'll enjoy every crazy minute of it! Remind me of this when the pups are 6 weeks old and I'm being fitted for the little white coat. LoL! Glad you are coming along for the ride, hope you enjoy it!

One last note: Happy 6th Birthday Wishes are barked out to Argus from his daughter Nati and the grand pups!

Enjoy some pictures from the past few days....

Early morning September 7, 2011!
