8 Months Old Today!

Happy 8 Month Birthday to the Nati Nine! It has been 2 months since I've posted anything - wow! I promise at some point to add  more current pictures of the puppies and will provide some updates then. 8 Months where did that time go?

Happy 6 Month Birthday to the Nati Nine!

Today is February 20, 2012; Six months ago, Saturday, August 20, 2011, Nati went into labor and had the first pup of the nine at approximately 4:00pm and about 12 hours later around 4:00am on Sunday August 21 the last pup arrived. It has been an event filled 6 months with the pups and other happenings in life. Those of you that have kept up with my blog are aware of that and even if you haven't kept up with my blog everyone knows that life is filled with many twists and turns and ups and downs much like a roller coaster ride; this is true for each of us, the only difference for each of us is what the twist, turn or up and down is on any one day; for each of us it is a unique ride. When we added pups to themix of our ride it made life more fun, crazy, hectic, joy filled, etc., etc. ....

Looking back it is hard to imagine 6 months has passed since they were born; in many ways it has gone by quickly and it others it has been a gradual trip. It is easy to imagine when we see the changes as we look at the pictures sent by all of the pup's families and when we watch the dynamic duo, Baci & Zamboni on a daily basis. Just 6 months ago the pups fit in the palm of your hand at between 12 to 14 ounces and now they consume your lap or your spot on the couch or chair and they might weigh 35 to 45 pounds. They look more like dogs than puppies in many ways but they still are puppies! Their size won't change much in the next 6 months but they will mature in their appearance. Dalmatians are perpetual puppies so attitude will remain puppy like! One of the many things to love about this breed..:-)

5 Months Old (1-20-12) & Livers Loved In Louisville KY

I know it has been a while since the last posting sorry! There are two main purposes to this post...
The first is to say HAPPY 5 Month Birthday to the Puppies! I have been getting updates from all the homes where the Nine are now living and everyone seems to be doing well. Puppies have been or are now starting classes to learn some basic obedience and continue being socialized. Most of the reports have them all at about the same stage of mischief - yes mischief! No matter how wonderfully mannered/ trained a pup is they still find ways to be mischievous at this age.

The other thing is I wanted to give an update on the 3 Amigos ( Baci, Pippa & Zamboni). These are the three that have been with us the longest time. Well it is no longer the 3 Amigo's it is now the Dynamic Duo (Baci &
Zamboni). Pippa is now living with a wonderful couple, Jerry & Patty Blankenship in Louisville, KY. She is the first Liver Dalmatian they have had in their family but not their first Dalmatian ( they lost their beloved Maggie in June to cancer). Pippa, Jerry and Patty are doing great.
When we took her Pippa to them last week we had a mini pup reunion. Uno and his owner Lauren live just a few miles away. So Pippa and Uno will get to see each other from time to time. How wonderful that two siblings get to live that close together! :-) We had not seen Uno other than pictures since he left the nest at 8 weeks old so this was a doubly wonderful visit. Pippa and Uno really enjoyed playing together again. Have to wonder if they remember each other.... hummmmmmmmmmmmm!

As mentioned in a prior post the pups have been on visits with friends throughout the month of December. Zamboni was lucky on one of his visits to have the chance to share a Christmas celebration before Christmas and as promised I'm sharing pictures that his Aunt Cat sent along from that day. He was a real hit that day with her family making his rounds to sit with everyone watching them open presents and just enjoying the experience. The way I understand it his favorite person was Cat's Dad. It seems that Zam would continue to go back to him throughout the day, each time launching himself into his lap. That evening, I received a call from Cat's Mom to tell me he was a wonderful pup and having him there really made their day an extra special one. Good boy Zamboni!

Christmas Greetings to All!

The year has gone by quickly and as it comes to a close it is time to stop and let everyone know how much you mean to us. It has been a busy year and there are many we have not seen or spoken to as often as we would like but please know you are in our thoughts often. We know we are blessed to have wonderful friends and family.

The last 4 months have been exceptionally eventful, fun and busy with Nati and Her Nine. Our world has been expanded with new friends in many parts of the country with the addition of the pups new families being added to our dog family... We are grateful they have found warm and loving families. We are also grateful to  the many people that have participated in the pups 4 months of life,  it  has taken a "village" to raise them and there are too many individuals and too many kindnesses to mention just know each are appreciated more than words can express.

The month of December for the 3 Pups at our house!

The month of December has been an eventful one for Zamboni, Baci and Pippa. They have been doing 5 to 7 days visits with friends to learn independence, confidence and environments outside the home they have known since they were born. Zambonin went to live with our friend Lynn and her Dalmatians for 7 days. In that time he played with Brittney Spaniels, visited Lynn's training club among lots of others thing.  He came back more grown up. While he was gone Baci went to stay with our friend Cat, her  3 Chesepeake Bay Retrievers and her kitty cat. She went every where Cat went which included training classes. That left Pippa with us to be an only puppy for a while. She got lots tof one on one time, visits to and pet stores etc. Baci came home and then Pippa went to Cat.s. She was an only pup for one night then Zamboni came home. On Pippa's time away she meant her first horse, found she loved Cat's kitty and time sleeping on Cat's bed with Kitty. Then we switched Pippa for Zamboni...He got  to experince an early Christmas with Cat and her family and was a big hit from what we heard from her Mom....they  said he  mghtt have stayed if he didn't already have a forever home to go to ... :-) Cat promised to share pictures...which I will share with when I get them...
We had all three pups picture taken at our training club - amazing we got 3 pups less than 4 months old to sit for a picture like this... Enjoy!

First things first I never did post about Pebbles and her new forever home so here goes - they all deserve to have there time... :-) I just never had enough time. So here goes, better late than never since it has been a month since she has been in her  new home. Now known as Chloe (previously Light Pink - Pebbles) went to her new home the day after Thanksgiving. She is now living in Marshall Michigan with Whitney and Vince. Chloe is a lucky girl with an extended dog family that includes Whippets at Whitney's Mom's house where she visits often.

"The Hurrider I go the Behinder I Get"! And "Happy 4 Month Birthday to Nati's Nine"

Strange title for many I'm sure but that is my life these days it seems. The saying is a memory for me from a childhood trip we took to Amish country in the Lancaster PA area. In fact I remember one of the things bought on the trip by my Mom was a hot plate that had this statement. The hotplate is long gone but for some reason this quote stuck with me and for many reasons it has been resonating in my head a lot lately.

I am so far behind in all I have wanted to post. I will still get in the information that I've missed the past few weeks but just not now. Just not enough time to add the pictures etc. I just could not let today pass though  without posting a birthday message to the pups. An update - currently we have 3 pups at home but actually haven't had all 3 there except for a couple of days this month since they have each been going to week long sleep overs with our friend Cat and Lynn. Lots to tell about these experiences but that will have to come later. Right after Christmas Zamboni will go to his forever home. That will leave Baci and Pippa to keep Nati company.  I promise a full report on where everyone is soon.
